Polishing is the process of creating a smooth and shiny surface by rubbing it or using a chemical action, leaving a surface with minimal diffuse reflection and significant specular reflection. When the surface is magnified thousands of times, it usually looks like mountains and valleys. By repeated abrasion, those "mountains" are worn down until they are flat or just small "hills". The process of polishing with abrasives starts with coarse ones and graduates to fine ones.

The process of electrolytic-plasma polishing is for finish machining of articles with different shapes and for square-wave stripping of burrs and parts with sharp edges. Electrolytic-plasma polishing can be done in 3 main directions:

  • decorative polishing of composite surfaces;
  • parts surfaces preparation for subsequent application of various coatings;
  • burrs square-wave stripping and sharp edges rounding-off.

Electrolytic-plasma polishing is based on the principle of using impulsing electric discharges, which pass through the whole surface of the processed article, sunk in electrolytic conductor. Joint affecting of reactive environment and electric discharge on the surface of a part make electric pulse polishing of articles possible.
